Football gossip

Well, we will start today. Currently in England, the table toppers of the top four leagues are unexpected. Arsenal head the Premiership, albeit by 2 points, as Bristol City, Swansea City and Peterborough United lead The Championship, League 1 and League 2 respectively. Real Madrid are well clear in Spain. as are Bayern Munich in Germany, PSV in Holland and Inter in Italy. Rangers and Celtic are battling it out, as normal, at the top of the Scottish Premier.

Todays rumours have included “A Frank Lampard contract dispute”, “Spurs penalty no-show Steen Malbranque being labelled a bottler” and Thierry Henry whining on about how good he was at Arsenal.

Tomorrow is a big day for the Premiership as leaders Arsenal (2/9) are at home to Middlesborough (9/1). Man United (1/7) visit basement club Derby (16/1), whereas Chelsea and Liverpool (both 1/3) face Sunderland and Reading respectively. A fourfold on this pays out at almost 3/1.

Hello, nice to see a fellow Arsenal fan who also enjoys the exciting world of gambling! I fancy Arsenal myself, eased to victory in the San Siro, combining exciting attacking football with professional grit and determination. A truely magical display of football played the way it should be played. At 5/1 I really do believe a £10 bet on arsenal to win the trophy is more of an ‘investment’ than a risk.
I also placed a £10 bet on Denman today to win the Gold Cup. Absolutely delighted with the outcome of the race – Denman streaking ahead and winning by 8 lengths. A truely remarkable display against Kauto Star, considered by some to be the greatest horse of the modern era. Todays result just goes to show, the favourite does not always win.

You are right there Adam, the favourite does not always win. Obviously, like yourself, being a fellow Arsenal fan, are opinion of Arsenal winning the Champions League is a bit biased. And now as it is over a month since your post, Arsenal have now been knocked out of the competition, albeit very unlucky!
